Mobile Application for Increased Government-Citizen Engagement
Long lines at banks, crowds in government collection offices, and the limit on payment points for foreign visitors made citizens postpone their tax payments. In addition, health concerns due to this year’s recent pandemic increased delays in paying outstanding taxes and fees. The challenge was to provide citizens a convenient, efficient and safe way to make timely tax and other payments—and improve government services.
Transom developed a mobile application for Android and IOS, which allows users to create an account, quote, and pay tax obligations such as vehicle control, property control, alcoholic beverages license, driver’s license, new car tax, among others. In fact, the application allows for any payments generated by the government service agency with a simple process using standard credit or debit cards.
In addition, the Mobile Application system provides for effective communication with citizens; sending important notifications regarding government announcements, policies, programs, and payments to better inform and engage with citizens.
Just a few months after its execution, the mobile application had reached thousands of registered users, enhancing the collection, minimizing payment time, and increasing the number of collection points. And serving as an effective communication tool of the future. User counts continue to rise!
