Business Challenge
ABB Mexico needed to incorporate a new system for management of employee payroll and to transfer data between a GE system and ABB’s new software for payment calculation, absence management, employee incident reporting, etc.
Transom Solution
Transom worked to integrate a system that incorporated new work plans, benefits, contractual processes, and unionized personnel issues. Transom designed a system that transformed and migrated highly complex data while protecting confidentiality and ensuring on-time and accurate employee payroll.
Following an initial transition, Transom then provided a benefits and services system along with the coaching of ABB personnel for the migration process and data conversion to allow for concept mapping of other historical information transfers.
Business Results
The new payroll system was implemented on time and the payroll transition went smoothly. The project took approximately 8 months and involved all of ABB Mexico’s personnel at its Matamoros, Saltillo, Monterrey, Tijuana, Ciudad Juárez and San Luis Potosí plants. Having started with an initial group of 1800 employees eventually serving more than 2600 employees.
